Handmade frozen foods built for busy commercial kitchens across Ontario.
It started in a restaurant kitchen
BanCan Bites is the frozen food brand of BanCan Kitchen, our Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant on Eglinton Avenue East in East York.
We had been folding momo by hand for our own service for years. Other kitchens kept asking where we got them — so we started making them for other kitchens too.
Everything we sell is something we serve ourselves. If it is not good enough for our own dining room, it does not go in a case.
How we work
Three things we do not cut corners on
We source it properly
Fresh vegetables, proper cuts of meat and whole spices — the same ingredients that go into our restaurant dishes.
We make it by hand
Every momo is folded by hand. It is slower than a machine, and you can taste the difference in the wrapper.
We freeze it fast
Flash-frozen within hours of being made, so the filling stays juicy and the wrapper does not go gummy.
Supplying kitchens across Ontario
Restaurants, food courts, caterers and convenience retailers. If you serve it, we can supply it frozen.
